about me

I’m Tom Alder, an industrial designer working between design intent and buildable reality. I deliver fabricated architectural and public-realm outcomes from detailed design through to installation—coordinating materials, manufacturing and on-site delivery. I’m now based in Amsterdam and open to design and fabrication roles across Europe.

I studied at UTS, completing a Bachelor of Design in Product Design with a first-class Honours year in Design for Social Innovation. My honours research explored climate-responsive approaches to urban heat mitigation in disadvantaged communities, shaping my interest in spatial work that is technically rigorous, socially useful and culturally meaningful.

Outside the studio, I’m usually running trails, cooking or making furniture. Each keeps me close to the patience, material awareness and attention to detail that I bring to design work—and to the idea that process matters as much as the finished outcome.
