Canopy
project impact
A personal exploration of additive manufacturing in household furniture. Canopy pairs a 3D-printed lattice stool top with turned oak legs, using generative design to place material only where it is structurally needed.

project outcome
Generative lattice stool top produced via powder-bed 3D printing, combined with hand-turned oak legs.
The stool top was designed in nTopology, using a force-study-driven lattice to direct material thickness and lattice density toward the areas requiring the greatest strength.
The top was then 3D printed using powder printing and combined with hand-turned oak legs, bringing an additive-manufacturing process into a traditionally hand-built furniture piece.
