project outcome
Glue-free, screw-free joinery designed to accommodate seasonal timber movement in an outdoor seaside setting.
Constructed using locally sourced NSW spotted gum and traditional joinery techniques, with no glue or screws used anywhere in the piece.
The outdoor seaside setting meant the timber would encounter large fluctuations in moisture content throughout the year, so the joinery was designed to accommodate ongoing swelling, shrinking and warping.
